There are many ways to prepare for the exam as well as ways to approach the exam. I have been talking to Vanessa for a while as we were both preparing for the exam in April. It was great talking to her and learn how she has prepared as well as what was like not passing the first time she took the exam. We discussed what engineers should keep in mind if they don't pass the first time as well as how to cope with test anxiety. This was a great episode an I am glad I got to talk to Vanessa about this topic. Vanessa (E.I.T.) is a Transportation Engineer at a Private Firm in California where she focuses on bike-way, rail, and roadway design. Outside of work, she is heavily involved in her local professional organization American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). She continually volunteers in events that help promote girls to pursue engineering and help entry level engineers improve on their professional development skills. In this episode you will learn * Useful advice to study for the exam * Ways to cope with test anxiety * Advice for young engineers thinking about taking the exam * What were some resources you should consider for the exam * What to do the day/week of the exam to prepare Resources Civil Engineering Reference Manual [https://www.luisfelipeduque.com/CERM] Structural Engineering Reference Manual [https://www.luisfelipeduque.com/SERM] PPI Courses for the PE Exam [https://www.luisfelipeduque.com/PECourses] PE Structural Notes [https://www.luisfelipeduque.com/resources] Music by Jack Winders Intro: Midwest Folks Outro: Southern Skies Website: https://www.jackwinders.com [https://www.jackwinders.com/] Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/JackWindersMusic Follow him on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/0msfukZWdVoUHIvpFvanTU?si=U5jKEdjfSTOetL12ispLcg Connect with me Sign up to my weekly email newsletter // https://www.luisfelipeduque.com/Newsletter My website & blog // https://www.luisfelipeduque.com [https://www.luisfelipeduque.com/] Instagram // https://www.luisfelipeduque.com/Instagram Twitter // https://www.luisfelipeduque.com/Twitter LinkedIn // https://www.luisfelipeduque.com/LinkedIn Facebook // https://www.luisfelipeduque.com/Facebook YouTube // https://www.luisfelipeduque.com/YouTube --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/engourfuture/message --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/engourfuture/message
